DISPENSING HORMONAL CONTRACEPTIVES
Pharmacists may dispense self-administered hormonal contraceptives under a non-patient specific order issued by the Commissioner of Health.
AUTHORIZED METHODS
- Oral pill
- Vaginal ring
- Transdermal patch
REQUIREMENTS FOR PHARMACISTS
- Must be properly trained and certified
- Dispense under standing order from NYS Health Commissioner or licensed prescriber
- Complete documentation and patient self-screening
- May dispense up to 12-month supply
